October Victory

So when I realized that I hadn't made my steel-cut oatmeal happiness since last year, which meant that I couldn't remember the right proportions, or the right timing, or whether I used milk before... I was aghast.
Thankfully, my second attempt was this morning, and it all came back. Delicious victory for wholesome, healthy food in the morning. Shout out to Melia! :-)

  1. Thanks for the shout-out! The promise of a simple, gourmet breakfast has gotten me out of bed so many times. Lately I've been digging fresh whole-grain bread (frozen the first day so I can use it for toast the rest of the week) with butter and honey or local raspberry jam. Or Nutella. I've also taken to whole-milk yogurt, having adopted the philosophy that it's best to leave foods in their most natural form. Bring on the cream top!

I miss my fresh hazelnut-almond butter from Rainbow Grocery. But the new sunflower seed butter from Trader Joe's is pretty amazing. Mixed with Nutella....daaaamn!
